High school can be difficult. It is a time of developmental, social and academic change and navigating this journey can be tough.
When I speak to teenagers today who are confused, anxious, stressed, or lonely - I can relate.
In fact, I remember crying on the couch to my mum on the night of graduation because it all felt too overwhelming.
And that was BEFORE social media, standardised testing and an alarming increase in alarming youth mental health statistics.
In my 5 years as a high school teacher, I noticed too many girls struggling with the pressure of school and social expectations and I vowed to find a way to support them in a meaningful way...in a way the curriculum does not.

I cannot put into words how thankful I am for Breanna. I have come a long way from when I started with her. I was constantly thinking go myself in a negative way and always overthinking things. She's taught me to stop comparing myself to others and to just be confident in who I am and how I look, along with telling that voice in my head to just shut up and go away! Breanna has taught me many techniques to use in and throughout school tests to help wit my anxiety and struggles with concentration and panicking. Breanna has always been so king and caring and makes me feel so comfortable around her.
I truly can't thank her enough.

Breanna has made everything so different for me. I began seeing her to help with my anxiety (specifically with public speaking) and now I feel 10x more confident and happy in myself - I do the things that used to freak me out.Now when I have to do class, presentations, I don't freak out like I used to.I'm so grateful that she has made high school a million times easier for me, it feels strange to feel this confident in myself but it's really amazing. Thank you so much.

Breanna has really helped me see like more positively. My mindset has improved and I am a happier, less stressed person.I rarely overthink and now know how to control my emotions. She has helped me become more aware of my thoughts and I'm extremely grateful for her and how much I've developed as a person. She makes me the best version of myself.
Why is a mentor important?
To be completely honest, high school can be a very tough experience. Especially for teenage girls. In my years working very closely with them, it was my observation that each year seemed to bring more negative self-talk, more social and academic pressure and more responsibilities that often leave them stressed, burnt-out or insecure.
Often, despite the unconditional love and encouragement from home, they seek guidance elsewhere. They don't want to hear it from Mum or Dad, they roll their eyes, they think 'but you HAVE to say that' or they just cringe at the thought of speaking to you about 'embarrassing' or 'awkward' issues. This is completely normal, because developmentally, they are experiencing what is called the Socialisation Period.
During this completely new and somewhat confusing time, they are in desperate need of guidance, support and education, and they are seeking it from peers, or someone they subconsciously approve of.
This is where a mentor comes in.

What is a Mentorship?
A mentorship provides the environment and relationship for your daughter to express herself, seek guidance, and feel emotionally supported as she navigates all things teen-related.
My aim for your daughter is for her to feel like she is simply 'hanging out' rather than 'off to the shrink.' Often, my clients will message me the morning of their session saying something along the lines of 'yaaaaay - so much to tell you!' THIS is what I aim for: an environment she can not only learn and grow...but one she ENJOYS.
Too many times, I have seen young girls dread therapy-styled appointments; they felt as though there is something wrong with them, which only perpetuated the insecurity and created a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The purpose of a mentorship is to create connection and support, which is provided in 1:1 sessions - in person or online from the comfort of her own bedroom.

Who is a Mentorship for?
Mentorships are for teenage girls in High School.
Often these girls are experiencing:
☹️ Low Self Esteem
☹️ Negative Self Talk
☹️ Study-related anxiety or stress
☹️ Difficulty establishing healthy friendships
☹️ Lack of motivation at school
☹️ Bullying
There are a range of issues which teens experience in high school - a mentorship is a personalised approach as unique as their experience.
How will it help my daughter?
I truly believe that every single teenager is unique; and as such, each Mentorship is a personalised experience, tailored to empowering the mentee.
At the end of each session, your daughter will have new tools, strategies, mindset reframes and challenges which aim to:
♥ Increase her self esteem.
♥ Improve her resilience.
♥ Reduce overwhelm or anxious thought-patterns.
♥ Help her identify and regulate her emotions.
♥ Help her celebrate her uniqueness and remove unhealthy comparison.
♥ Create processes and strategies which will support her academically.
♥ Help her create healthy boundaries for herself and with peers.
♥ Teach her how to set and achieve goals: academic, social and emotional.
♥ Improve her grades at school.
